Erondu Uchenna Erondu jnr

Former Special Adviser to  Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Special Duties,  Chief Erondu Uchenna Erondu, jnr Thursday expressed shock and surprise that he is being linked to the on-going  leadership tussle in Abia State House of Assembly.

"I am not yet a member of the Abia State House of Assembly, am therefore at  loss  how I could  have galvanised  16 members of the Assembly to convene  the May 2, 2023 sitting of the House when I am not yet their colleague", Erondu Jnr, the member-elect for Obingwa-East State Constituency lamented in a Press Statement.

Making references to  publications which had linked him to the attempted impeachment of Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, Chief Erondu Jnr described such as  malicious allegations and  rumours all packaged  as a surreptitious  strategy by his   traducers "who are intent on soiling my good image and by implication that of this government which I have served creditably.

"I therefore wish to plead that these unfounded and malicious allegations should stop forthwith as it will not serve any useful purpose", he maintained.

Erondu Jnr further argued that those behind the false allegations are stretching the imagination too far  by linking his  name to the  internal wranglings and the present leadership crisis rocking the House. "I  am not in anyway connected to the day to day activities of the House and cannot possibly be a beneficiary of the outcome of the crisis in whatever", he maintained.

He further dismissed point by point the allegations raised in the false publications: "At no point did I give any legislator  of the present 7th Assembly any money to effect the change of Speakership of the Abia House of Assembly.

"At no point did I engage anyone to obtain on my behalf  the buy-in of members of the 7th Assembly which i am not yet a member, for the Speakership position of the 8th Assembly as these rumours seem to suggest",

He described those manufacturing these lies and rumours  as  'idle minds'   and urged them to  look for a meaningful venture to engage their brains, affirming that  "this reckless path of character assassination which CAN NEVER BE THE EXCLUSIVE PRESERVE OF ANY PERSON OR GROUP OF PERSONS"
