Mr Vast Emordi

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was on Monday commended for appointing a professional, Dr Adaeze Oreh as the State Commissioner for Health, to steer his proposed healthcare reforms.

The appointment of Oreh, daughter of former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili as Health Commissioner was greeted with scepticism and jeers by politicians and stakeholders, however, a frontline pharmacist Mr Vast Emordi  argues that the complex health reforms proposed by the governor can only be implemented by a very experienced practitioner .

Mr. Vast told dailyledger.com.ng  that being the daughter of a former governor, does not preclude her from being nominated to serve as Commissioner contending that the detractors should see her pedigree and judge her based on her performance.

According to him Dr. Oreh was recently elevated to the post of senior medical officer at the Department of Hospital Services of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMH) .

Oreh is a qualified family physician, a Public Health Specialist, and would bring  her experience to use as a universal health care advocate.

From research, Oreh serves on the same council of PANO University of Medical Science, she has worked in areas such as Health Case Strategy and financing organizational management, blood distribution services, and Maternal and Child Healthcare .

She is well equipped to help revitalize the health sector in the State to complement Rivers State Gov Fubara's proposed health care reforms.
