The National Guild of Radio Managers (Private), on Wednesday applauded the Executive Governors of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, Governors Umo Eno and Bassey Edet Otu respectively for appointing astute and respected professionals as their Chief Press Secretaries, CPS
Amb.Patrick Uzoyi-Peters, the National President of the Guild in a Press Release on behalf of the Guild's Board of Trustees, National Working Committee, National Executive Council (NEC) and membership also congratulated Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, a renowned journalist and unionist - who until his well deserved appointmenta as the Chief Press Secretary to the Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu was the Editor-at-Large with The Whistler and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, FCT Council.
"Undoubtedly, Gov Bassey Otu has demonstrated an uncanny eye for right-fit professionals in selecting his closest aides; This is a virtue and a first step which must be commended. Thank you Sir for making not just the right choice in the appointment of such as seasoned industry player to carry the onerous task of being your spokesman and image maker, but also a well informed decision at that", the Guild stated.
The release further added: "We also use this medium to extend our admiration and commendation in equal measure to the newly minted “Golden Boy” of Akwa Ibom State - Gov Umo Eno who has made the right choice in the re-appointment of Mr. Ekerete Udo as Chief Press Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Governor.
"Mr Udo had served with distinction in the discharge of his duties to the previous administration of Gov Udom Emmanuel which has obviously warranted the right choice of keeping him on to continue his great work as the Governor’s lead image maker.
"As a Guild, we commend the choices of Govs Otu and Eno of Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom States respectively on their spot-on choices for their spokesmen, the first official and most crucial of appointments"
The Guild further urged the two State Executives to ensure that their administrations maintains a culture of zero interference and intimidation by State institutions, appointees, media handlers and others against the Media.
It further expressed determination for a mutually beneficial relationship between the two CPS(s), their offices and members of the Guild led by It's National Vice-President, (South-South), Amb.Samuel Enoh Akpan through it's State Chairmen for Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers States respectively - Ugochukwu Bamidele and Duke Emmanuel.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee, the National Executive Council (NEC) and the membership of the National Guild of Radio Managers (Private), I Amb.Patrick Uzoyi-Peters JP, the National President convey our most hearty congratulations to two astute gentlemen of the noble pen profession and respected fellow sojourners in the Media profession.
In Cross Rivers State, the newly elected Governor, Bassey Edet Otu has picked a renowned journalist and unionist - Comrade Emmanuel Ogbechie who until his well deserved appointment was the Editor of Abuja Inquirer and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists FCT Council.
