Hon Alozie Ajiri

"This year's Democracy Day celebration marks watershed moments in Abia State political history", says Hon Alozie Ajiri in his June 12, Democracy Day Message.

He further added that this year's Democracy Day celebration is worth celebrating because "...it marks the celebration of the dawn of a new day in Abia after 24 years of the locust years. Only the democratic system of government would have permitted such a seamless transition from a corrupt, despotic administration to a  brand new administration with promises of  transparency, accountability and delivery of democracy dividends"

Ajiri, the YPP candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, Abia State House of Assembly in the 2023 General Elections further applauded Ndi Ikwuano, describing them as true champions of democracy, explaining that Ikwuano LGA totally voted for liberation from the old order by voting massively for the Labour Party.

"Though, my ambition to represent our people in the House of Assembly may  not have seen the light of day presently, but I share fully in our people's choice. It was a choice for a new order, a choice for  fast-paced development in Ikwuano LGA. I therefore join our people in the celebration of this year's Democracy Day, it is indeed a turning point in our political history ", he submitted.

Designating and dedicating June 12 as Democracy Day should inspire us to cherish the promises of true democractic government, Ajiri proffered.

He urged the new administration in Abia to therefore protect the institutions of a democratic state by  respecting the social contract with the people by implementing their manifesto, and  fulfilling the responsibilities of responsible governance as constitutionally enshrined.

"Whether as the government or the governed, we cannot afford to negotiate respect for the rule off law, it is the spirit of our democracy", he submitted.
