It was a mini-festival of praise singing, prayers and short speeches as a brand new non-governmental organization, New Era Foundation was inaugurated at the spacious home of Pastor Mike Nwaka, in Ikwuano LGA.



The occasion attracted virtually the who is who in Ikwuano Labour Party leadership cadre plus its fast growing membership structure 



 Declaring the event open, Pastor Mike Nwaka, tagged the Deputy Leader of the Foundation in  a short remarks invited it's Founder/Leader, Mr Osinachi Nwaka to formally introduce the new NGO to the people 



Mr Osinachi Nwaka, who says he preferred to be called  the Chief Servant of New Era Foundation described the Foundation as one established to  address the "...needs of the indigent in our communities through awarding scholarships to students and economic empowerment for all.



"We are non-governmental, but our prime focus is to assist the government to empower widows, orphans and undertake other humanitarian and charitable activities in our rural communities", he explained 



He further described the core values of the Foundation as  Service to humanity; Integrity; Transparency; Respect for people and commitment to excellence, adding that it's  membership of like minds cuts across the 57 ancient communities of Ikwuano including MOUAU and NCRI, Umudike



In his remarks, Dr Monday Ubani, the Chairman, NBA-SPIDEL lauded the Founder/Leader of the Foundation  and pledged to expand the scope of his own humanitarian body and  partner with New Era in its  humanitarian mission. He further prayed for Mr O Nwaka  declaring that he will never go, but move from glory to glory 



Dr Ubani urged other Ikwuano sons and daughters to join hands in the development of the LG, contending that there is no place like home. " Come home and help the young ones rise, he pleaded


Ubani who is the Leader of Labour Party in Ikwuano described Nwaka as a strong pillar of the party in Ikwuano, and assured that the administration of Dr Alex Otti would definitely remember Ikwuano 


The Constitutional lawyer-activist who lamented the marginalisation of in the 24 years of the last administration declared that he will see to it that the contract for the rehabilitation/reconstruction of  Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene road awarded four years must be completed, affirming that the contractor must not be allowed to run away.


Also speaking, the member-elect for Ikwuano State Constituency in the House of Assembly for Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon Bonny Isienyi said the Foundation would assist the needy  in real-time, adding that the Labour Party would not during election hand out peanuts in exchange for the people's vote's and support, noting that such is psychophantic.


HRH Eze Ralph Ogbonna, the Oru of Ndoru who also graced the occasion assured the people to embrace the new NGO stressing that he knows that what the Founder of the Foundation, Nwaka has promised, he would deliver.


The event also witnessed the inauguration of it's various leadership a cadres including the Clan Leaders; Council; Ward Coordinators/Executives; plus the Chapter chairmen and executives .


Among LP stalwarts and leaders who graced the occasion include Member-elect for Isiala-Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Hon Ginger Onwusibe who was represented; Chief Anthony Usuwah; Chief Ikechi Osondu, the President-General of Oru Autonomous Community and a host of others.
