Sen Austin Akobundu 


The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu has provided clarifications on the widely reported N200 million palliatives given to each Senator for their constituents, explaining that he has no information yet on the matter.


"Like everyone else, I have read on the social media about the palliative being made available through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, I want to say categorically, I do not have concrete information on the matter. The processes in may have been concluded through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture before I got there, but as your representative that cares,  I have taken up the matter, I have taken up the matter to the leadership of  the National Assembly and am pushing ", the Senator said in a release by his Media unit


He added that the palliative is not a personal affair, but for the people of Abia Central, "..It is crucial to note that the focus of this palliative is not centered on my involvement or that of the legislator whom the courts have instructed to step aside. Instead, the paramount consideration is the welfare and interests of the people of Abia Central.


"So I am giving you full assurance that I will get information and I will fight for it. Whatever belongs to you will get to you. Trust me, I will fight for your rights", he affirmed
