Innocent Nwaigwe


The Abia State Head of Service, Mrs. Queen Ngozi Obioma has suspended the acting Chairman of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) Mr Innocent Nwaigwe over series of allegations including corruption, Insubordination to the office of Head of Service, abuse of office, gross misconduct, and  incompetence. The suspension, without salary will continue pending conclusion of investigation into his stewardship at ASUBEB


 Sources reveal that Nwaigwe's suspension which has the approval of the State governor, Dr Alex Otti because he had  been having running battles with staff of ASUBEB, causing confusion in the agency as a result of his clannish style of leadership ranging from appointing only people from his clan as departmental heads  against the Abia charter of equity and in total disobedience to the directives of Gov. Otti.


Nwaigwe also  violated civil service rules on several occasion  including refusal to respond to series of queries served  him from the Head of Service, embezzlement of funds, allocation of ASUBEB properties to individuals without due process, negligence of duties amongst others
