The good governance advocate, Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu on Monday shook up his Ikwuano State Constituency as he succinctly, summarily rated the performance of their representative, Hon Boniface Isienyi zero.
Ishionwu, Facilitator of For Us By Us, FUBU, a political mobilisation organisation, in a live interview on Love 99.9 FM while responding to a question on the performance of Hon Boniface Isienyi in very measured tones said: "Awful! Very poor!! Ikwuano deserves better!!!"
Even the programme host, Mr Chris Owui, aka Mr C was momentarily lost for words, but he quickly followed up with a follow up question.
"There has been no feedback (on his nearly ten months as lawmaker). This is an open invitation. Our people are not happy. We have tried to reach him. We deserve better...".... Whether it was sabotage or pure technological failure, at this point, the radio station went off the air!
The short interview posted to various Ikwuano WhatsApp groups, went viral like an harmattan season fire.
There was unanimity that Hon Isienyi is not living up to expectations.
In his reaction, the social media influencer, Mr Charles Obi wrote:
"Straight up. No need painting graves (apologies to Eze Ngwori). Disappointed is a milder and respectful way of saying it. It has been shambolic so far.
"More painful Also is the performance of his senior colleague in NASS, Rep Obi Aguocha.
"When you say these things the way they are they stereotype you with the 24 years tag that is gradually becoming stale as if it's everyone that belonged to Nde Pdsomething.
"Much more was expected from the LP representatives these past 10months being that the mandate was gotten from the steadfastness of voters across party lines but so far, nothing concrete has been done to even equal where we were coming out from not to talk of surpassing it.
"The Day of reckoning is fast approaching, and we will be forceful with our critique and questions.
"Nice one Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu. You've always have my respect for saying things the way they are irrespective of being of the same Lsomething"
Taking a satirical posture, AMA C. Chinyere wrote:
"Who say our rep has not perform,. .. I disagree, the other week, he performed naming ceremony at Ibere, just few days ago he performed marriage at Oboro
"Infact he has marriage ceremony at Ariam. What performance do we want biko nu?
"I come in peace oo"
Another reaction from Frank Wisdom, aka Ezegwori wrote:
"Well spoken Chief Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu. Thank you for always standing by the truth no matter what.
"Frankly speaking Ikwuano deserves better generally. I appeal to our political leaders to put up all necessary efforts to achieve a better Ikwuano in their various positions and portfolio.
"God bless Ikwuano and Abia state"
In his reaction the State Chairman of NNPP, Mr Ifeme Ogaranya in positioned Ishionwu's assessment in context, he wrote:
"That's the areas people get it wrong, attracting contracts is okay but that is not the major assignment of our House member, he is a law maker... There has been request for contributions to the constituency amendment Bill, there is need for our people to contribute, the law maker should make laws and it's not possible without a functional constituency offices, not possible if he is far away from his people most especially the youths. As a State Chairman of a party I receive calls and attend such meetings but here in ikwuano not once and so if all you can tell us where is Oloko road then go back to your drawing room, I believe Hon Isienyi has all it takes. Except if you all are not giving him the right advice"
A former APC, Ikwuano LG Chairman, Mr Chidi Ogbonna, aka Mbakwe lent the embattled House member a soft landing by asking:
"I would like to ask just two question from Chief Ugwumba: What is your yardstick for measuring his performance?
"Secondly, are there any of his mates in the State House of Assembly who have performed better than him?"
Dailyledger.com.ng could not reach Ishionwu on phone, however in a terse sms, he said he has offered an invitation to a live radio programme for Hon Isienyi to defend his performance so far in the House of Assembly

Mhh! Too early to access the elected House of Assembly and National Assembly member Engr. Boniface Isienyi and Rt. Honourable Obi Aguocha. Have we forgotten that they just came out of tribunal and Appeal tribunal. My personal opinion is that the rating is too early and biased. Let us trade with caution. All is targeted at personal interest. We must not destroy somebody to excel.
