Immediate past Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Investment,  Chief John Okiyi Kalu who had consistently subjected policies and actions of Governor Alex Otti to scrutiny of accountability and transparency was on Tuesday summoned to the Abia State Judicial Panel on Recovery of Government Properties sitting in Government House, Umuahia

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Chief Kalu, popular called JOK had relentlessly exposed the lies and hypocritical stance of the Gov Otti-led administration which refused to acknowledge any virtue in his predecessor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. For instance it was the dogged stance of JOK that led to the confirmation by Professor Barth Nnaji, chairman of Geometric Power Plant that Ikpeazu invested 3.5% of Abia State funds in the power plant to the chagrin of Otti who attempted to blot out the incidence.

In a post on his social media arm, JOK stated "Earlier today, I was at the venue of Abia State Judicial Panel on Recovery of Government Properties as a witness, in a matter involving the State Ministry of information. On arrival, I was informed that the sitting has been postponed to a yet to be communicated date.

"Frankly, whoever served in public office must always be ready and willing to answer questions whenever called upon. I personally encourage accountability and transparency in leadership and hope to be back to the panel whenever re-invited. I have already filed my testimony.

"I also hope the panel is preparing vouchers to pay for my transport and accommodation in line with the  State’s panel of enquiry law".
