The former governor of Abia State, Kalu took to his verified Facebook page to share the news, expressed his optimism about the future of the APC in Abia State. "Abia APC will continue to grow stronger and more united," he declared.
Daily Ledger com.ng reports that Kalu and Hon Chinedum Orji were formerly engaged in a cold war after the former attempted to frustrated the second term governorship ambition of the latter's father in 2011. Orji's father, Sen. Theodore Orji was forced out of the defunct Peoples Progressive Alliance, PPA, founded by Kalu at the tail end of his governorship in 2007.
Kalu, playing the godfather facilities the emergence of T A Orji in the 2007 governorship election. However things fell apart between them towards the end of his first term. TA Orji finally berthed in the PDP which gave him a platform for his second term.
Ironically, when Kalu attempted to return to the PDP from where he defected to found PPA, T A Orji used all his might as the Abia Executive governor to stop him. He eventually found his way to the APC.
