Dr Okezie Ikpeazu 


Immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed deep sadness over the killing of soldiers at Obikabia Junction two days ago by unknown persons, describing the act as barbaric and unacceptable. 


The former Governor stated that killing of the soldiers doesn't represent who we are as a people, noting that such barbarism against soldiers who were on lawful assignment to keep our people safe is difficult to understand.


 The former governor further extended his deep condolences to the Chief of Army Staff and the hierarchy of the Nigerian Army over the unfortunate incident. He also sends his condolences to the families of the bereaved soldiers. 


He urged the security agencies to be thorough in their investigations into this incident and fish out the perpetrators of the crime. He, however, called on the Military authorities to exercise due restraint and professionalism during the process of investigation, and to ensure that innocent citizens are not made to bear the brunt of what happened. 


Dr Ikpeazu prays the Almighty God to restore peace in the land and protect our people.
