Davido


 Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, aka Davido,  has been officially unveiled as the Brand Ambassador for Chinese Automobile Manufacturing Company,  CIG Motors


The award-winning artiste, as part of the CIG  family, is expected to bring his dynamic energy and influence to represent the brand, initiate collaborations and  projects to drive the brand forward. 


 CIG Motors kicked- off operations in 2014 after a partnership with GAC Motors Ltd to oversee and manage their distribution network in Nigeria. And as Brand Ambassador, Davido will represent GAC Motors in Nigeria and across Africa, leveraging his star power to increase brand awareness. He joins comedian-turned-singer Nasboi, who was also named as the company’s Ambassador in June.  


During an interaction with the Press,  an  elated Davido was optimistic of a promising future for  GAC Motors in Nigeria. In his own words, Davido maintained that  "they have plans  –  and it’s going to be big. Hopefully we all meet here again in the future and we will have more things to talk about and how the progress has gone throughout this partnership" 


Davido also noted that his emergence as Brand Ambassador aligns perfectly with GAC’s forthcoming youth initiatives, for which he believes he is "the best person to represent them"


The deal adds to Davido’s expanding portfolio of global partnerships, which includes smartphone brand Infinix and gaming platform, 1XBET.


In a related development, the Lagos State Government has announced a new partnership between its Ibile Holdings Limited and CIG Motors to acquire 5,000 new vehicles for the LAGRIDE fleet, investing $260m into the local economy. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the arrangement represented a "transportation solution that we are developing to meet all our citizens’ needs to commute safely and comfortably within the metropolis"


A number of diginatries who attended the grand unveiling of Davido as Brand Ambassador of GAC Motors included his uncle and governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke; Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu represented by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; and   Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Adewale Egbedun.


 The colorful ceremony which held  at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos also attracted  Sen. Ben Bruce- Murray; Chairman of the Cubana Group and one of the business partners of CIG Motors, Obi Cubana, among others.


Dailyledger.com.ng reports that GAC Motors, CIG's representatives in Nigeria, presented GAC M8 2024 multipurpose vechicles to Davido and Chioma,  his wife   at their traditional wedding.
