The quartet suspended from IMSHA

The  usually calm atmosphere of the Imo State House Of Assembly was soaked in tension yesterday as the Speaker,  Hon Chike Olemgbe announced the indefinite suspension of four members of the House “for hatching, scheming an impeachment plan and inciting members to impeach the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.”


 The suspended lawmakers include Hon Dominic Ezerioha (Oru-West); Hon Sam Nkem Otuibe, (Ahiazu-Mbaise);    Hon Chidiebere Samuel Ogbunikpa, (Okigwe); and Hon  Henry Agbasonu, (Ezinihitte Mbaise


No motion was moved for the suspension of the members, rather the Speaker, Hon Olemgbe who announced the  indefinite suspension of the members on the floor of the House explained that the decision to suspend them was taken at the executive session.


He also announced that the suspended members have been removed as chairpersons of standing committees the once chaired. He later announced slight adjustments to the membership of the committees


Some of the suspended members present  declined to speak with journalists at the adjournment of the day's sitting
