A former Niger Delta militant leader, Gab. ‘General’ Asabuja on Wednesday warned the military, police, and paramilitary protest to resist the temptations of shooting Nigerians participating in the #EndBadGovernance Protest which kicks off on August saying that the consequences of killing anyone might cause the protest to snowball out of control.


'Gen' Asabuja as he is popularly called in a trending video broadcast affirmed that there is no going back on the #EndBadGovernance protest which he said will be earthshaking and tough



He said the peaceful protest which begins on August 1 and proposed to last ten days must go on as there is too much hunger, too much suffering, uncontrollable rising prices of foodstuffs and general retrogression in the socio-economic status of the Country


In the same vein, the former leader of the Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND warned that  shooting Nigerians participating in the '#EndBadGovernance might cause it to snowball into an uncontrollable situation which would make the Kenyan protest a child's play.



"I am appealing to the military, police or any uniformed personnel to resist the temptations of shooting any youth, mother or father. It is a peaceful protest, no one should be armed, no one should attack any military personnel, police or uniformed person with a stick or stone, no one should be armed. It is a peaceful protest. Any killing of any civilian will cause the protest to snowball into a crisis, it will turn to a revolution and what happened in Kenya will become a child's play.


"If you kill any civilian, you go know say a hungry man is an angry man, Kenya will be a child's play", he submitted.


Asabuja who recently made the headlines when the Rivers State Commissioner, Tunji Disu declared him wanted after a viral video showed him making strong statements regarding the ongoing local government council crisis in Rivers State further remarked on the incident.


He lamented that the broadcast may again lead to his being declared wanted, but he urged the authorities to go after those looting the treasury, those bombing government buildings and those abusing governors


He argued that the authorities should allow the messenger be as killing the messenger would not also kill the message. Even if the messenger is killed, the message lives on, he said.


He submitted that the #EndBadGovernance Protest which starts on August 1 must go on as the hardship is too much, the hunger in the land is becoming unbearable.
