Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu 


Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation was on  Thursday reported dead


Aged 82 years, Iwuanyanwu was elected the PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on  April 20,  2023 following the death of Prof. George Obiozor.


A statement on Thursday by Iwuanyanwu's son Jide Iwuanyanwu, read:


“The Iwuanyanwu family of Umuohii Atta, in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State announces the demise of our patriarch, Engr Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu-Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo,” 


Iwuanyanwu a prominent  businessman, politician, and philanthropist made   significant contributions to various sectors, particularly in the Igbo community and beyond. He was  active in multiple business ventures, including real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality.


He was also a be newspaper publisher and promoter of a football club, former Spartans FC of Owerri
