Hon Obi Aguocha

The political mobilisation and sensitisation group, For Us By Us, FUBU Movement on Wednesday reacted to a message from the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Obi Aguocha, on his intention to fix the power challenge in Ariam-Usaka in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State and reconnect the Community to EEDC power supply lines.

"While we appreciate the update and Hon. Obi Aguocha's “intention” to address the electricity challenges in Ariam Usaka, we believe it’s crucial to emphasize that we demand actions, not just words. As Carl Jung wisely said, "You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do",  Arc Igwe Nnaemeka, FUBU's  Political Media Strategist stated in a release.

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that a youths leader, Mr Henry Ugwunna had reported to on  social media community platform that "After a phone conversation with Rep Obi Aguocha I was reliably informed that he is working to restore Ariam Usaka electricity challenges, he has started making plans to reconnect the clan electricity to EDDC and it was confirmed by Mayor Osinachi Nwaka"

The message however failed to elicit any positive reactions from members who responded that Hon Aguocha has been the purveyor of several mouth  watering, but failed promises.

Capturing the sentiments of Ikwuano LG youths on Hon Aguocha's lacklustre performance so far, FUBU sent a message via Mr Ugwunna to the lawmaker. The essence of the message affirms the determination of the people to hold their leaders accountable henceforth and the consequences for elected office holders who fail to live up to expectations

The full message reads:

Dear Henry Chidubem,

While we appreciate the update and Honorable Obi Aguocha's “intention” to address the electricity challenges in Ariam Usaka, we believe it’s crucial to emphasize that we demand actions, not just words. As Carl Jung wisely said, "You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do."

Let this serve as a reminder that the people of Ikwuano will not sit quietly if it becomes evident that games are being played with our future and especially as regards the electricity project. We will hold our leaders accountable, and if necessary, we will speak up using the ballots. In the spirit of "_For Us, By Us_" we are prepared to face this challenge ourselves if our trust is misplaced.
