The Ibere Concerned Youths Forum, ICYF of Ikwuano LG,  Abia State on Saturday rising from its Extra-Ordinary General Meeting expressed confidence and pledged unalloyed support to the Governor Alex Otti-led administration and also to the Caretaker Transition Committee Chairman of Ikwuano LG Hon Osinachi Nwaka


In a communique issued at the end of the meeting signed respectively by its Chairman and Secretary, Dr Nwaoma Green and Hon Enyinnaya M Enyinnaya, plus seven others, the ICYF applauded the Gov Otti-led administration for its developmental strides and Infrastructural upgrade which is fast transforming the socio-economic status of the State.


In a related development, the ICYF expressed appreciations to Gov Otti for the initial appointment and renewal of the appointment of Hon Osinachi Nwaka as Mayor for Ikwuano LG, describing it as an expression in the leadership capacity of Hon Nwaka.

The ICYF further noted that since resumption as Ikwuano LG Mayor, Nwaka has initiated several action-driven interventions which have brought transformative impact on the people and communities in the LG, noting that such projects include, but not limited to the following: Grading and rehabilitation of long neglected inter-community and farm roads; Provision of portable water by erection of boreholes; Giving a face lift to the dilapidated LG headquarters at Isiala; Committing efforts and resources to tracking and rescuing three Ikwuano children who were kidnapped and ferried across three States; Ensuring adequate security and emergency services on 24/7 basis by equiping the Ikwuano sector of the Homeland Security with a Sienna vehicle and three motorcycles.


According to the ICYF, Other projects excuted by the Ikwuano Mayor include renovation of the Agricultural Development building at Isiala; provision of 300KVA transformer at the LG headquarters; Rehabilitation of the Health Center at Obugwu,  Ariam-Usaka and instituting the Thank God Its Friday, TGIF programme for empowerment or People with Disability, PWD  with N250,000 which has so far empowered four persons.


"... Your dedication and effective leadership, unyielding commitment to the development of Ikwuano LG have earned you the trust and admiration of the people. Continue your excellent work in doing more for the good people if Ikwuano as we believe you will finish stronger", the youths wrote in appreciation to Gov Otti and Hon Nwaka


They further lauded the governor for his approval for the reconstruction of Okporoenyi-Nkalunta-Obuoru-Itunta Ring Road, even as they fervently appealed to him for intervention to combat the menacing erosion threatening Umulu, Iberenta, Iyalu, Obuohia and Elemaga communities 



In a similar vein, the Ibere Youths further appealed to Gov Otti to intervene in the currently impassable Amawom-Ihim-Amuro-Okporoenyi road and the Inyila, Umuemenike  and Obuohia Ring Road.


The ICYF  which maintained that the governor and Mayor had been outstanding in their performance so far  urged all and sundry to remain consistent in their prayers and support for the duo
