The Ibere Concerned Youths Forum ICYF on Monday dismissed claims that certain decisions were taken at purported meeting of Ibere Political Leaders  held on 22/08/2024 as it ended in a deadlock.

The ICYF in a statement signed by its leaders, namely Dr Nwaoha  Green and  Comr. Enyinnaya M. Enyinnaya,  Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively and Comr. Emeka Awom, Secretary stated that the meeting ended in deadlock because their illogical, selfish and unpatriotic reasoning failed to resonate with those present as it did not capture the interests of Ndi Ibere.

"It is pertinent to note that no agreement was reached that necessitated any communique to misinform the general public and some Ndi Ibere", the statement read.

The statement further maintained the critical  Ibere political leaders were not even present at the said meeting as no such meeting of Ibere leadership has been scheduled and is yet to be scheduled.

"The convener of the so called political meeting acted out of his personal whims and caprices as he has no mandate to summon such meeting and lacks the authority to preside over such meeting", the ICYF also  clarified.

The Youths Forum further added that the assertion that Ibere political leaders did not endorse  any of her son in the yet to be scheduled Local Government Council elections is totally unacceptable because decisions of such magnitude should reflect the mind of all the critical  political stake holders not the opinion of selected few.

"Such acclaimed decisions couldn't have been taken in a meeting that ended in deadlock, as a matter of fact what happened in Chief Chigbue 's house was a heated discussion and argument which failed to arrive at any consensus.

"Moreover, it is  presumptuousness for somebody to hid under the platform of Ibere Political Leaders to foist his   personal opinion on the majority.

"Additionally, we should be mindful of the fact that the Abia State Government have not declared any date for the Local Government Council elections, so it will be irrational on our part to start fighting ourselves when there is no basis for fighting.

"We shouldn't forget that any group in Ibere reserves the right to endorse any body of their choice for any position", the statement submitted.
