Abia State Governor Alex Otti posing with the Osinachi Siblings when he invited them to Govt House

The Transition Committee Chairman of Ikwuano LG, Comrade Osinachi Nwaka recently took a journey down memory lane, to recount the memorable, but painful moments when   three children of Mr  Osinachi Udo Chijioke - Gideon, aged 8; Divine, aged 6; and Israel  were all abducted on May 10, 2024.

Hon Nwaka  proffered an insight into the incident which caused an uproar in the LG when it happened as  the children  were kidnapped on their way back from school.

During their visit to Gov Alex Otti

"The incident gave me sleepless nights for two weeks as we spared no resources in searching for the three children. Within the two weeks we were able to find the two boys, I had sleepless nights within those two weeks and never slept in my house. It was a continuous affair of meetings and more meetings, with parents of the children,  strategy meetings with security officials and other stakeholders

My focus was unwavering, I mean we were talking about children here and three children of the same parents. I never doubted our ability to find these children. Personally, it was  unthinkable that such an incident could happen under my watch. Thinking about the incident still gives me goosebumps till now.

"And that is the reason why we accord security of lives and property top priority.for human lives. Certainly, we cannot afford a repeat of such incident. So on daily basis, our antenna on security remains high.

One man who witnessed the whole drama and followed up closely as it unraveled is   Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu the pragmatic For Us By Us FUBU Movement leader. After the children were successful returned to their parents, Ugwumba Ishionwu took to his social media page to appreciate the outstanding work of Hon  Nwaka, for  his proactive leadership role in ensuring the recovery of three children.

"Excerpts from Ugwumba Ishionwu's letter reads as follows:

"Dear Mayor of Ikwuano and the Amaoba Security Team,

"I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your outstanding efforts in ensuring the successful return of our children. As an Amaoba son, an Umuohia son, and particularly as an Ezi Ezeri son, I am profoundly elated by this outcome.

"Your dedication and commitment to the safety and well-being of our community's children are truly commendable. Regardless of party affiliation, it is evident when a leader is genuinely committed to their work. Your actions have demonstrated exceptional leadership and care for our community

"Thank you once again for your remarkable work

"Sincerely                                                 Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu                             On behalf of Amaoba Sons and daughters"

In a related development, another Ikwuano son in the Diaspora, Dr Ifeanyi Uke also applauded to the Ikwuano Mayor saying: "Mayor Ossy "talk na do"  Nwaka. You are the man!! I will personally fly down there just to shake your hand for taking the safety of the kids and umu Ikwuano to heart.  Thank you sir! You have earned an indelible spot in my book ndikom!

"Congratulations to the Osinachi family and to the entire Amaoba community. It has ended in praise!"

The Ikwuano Mayor recalls on that one of three siblings abducted was sold for peanuts, he refused to name the amount in order not to send the wrong message to would be kidnappers

The return of Israel aged four, the last to be found ended the saga of the three missing Osinachi siblings. Today all three children of Osinachi Udo Chijioke - Gideon; Divine, and Israel are all  back home and doing great. Not done yet, the  Ikwuano Mayor also  announced full scholarships for the three children, covering their education from their present class through to the completion of their secondary school education.

Dailyledger.com.ng reports how the Ikwuano Mayor   waxed prophetic and added a spiritual dimension to the drama that unfolded.

It was after the recovery of Gideon Osinachi on May 24, 2024, from Nkpor, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State that Hon Nwaka knew that more efforts, beyond the material plane was  needed.

Confronted with the pains of the missing children's parent, he suddenly waxed prophetic, and firmly clutching Gideon, the Ikwuano Mayor broke protocol and went into fervent prayers, and prophetically  declared that young Israel would definitely rejoin his parents and siblings in no distant time. And so it happened.
