Gov Alex Otti

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State,  Chinedu Obilor has reacted to unfolding drama  in the Nov 2 Local Government Council elections in the State and submitted that Governor Alex Otti deceived Abians that he is transparent and democratic when infact, he is the opposite .

Dailyledger.ng.com reports that Chinedu Obilor, aka Iyierioba recently made a video 'Uka La Gadi Ifu' - trouble is brewing where he accused Gov  Otti of deceit, alleging that the State Chief Executive deceived Abians in the conduct of primary for Labour Party, LP candidates in the coming LG elections.

Iyierioba said the sham primary would bring trouble to the party and that Otti has not demonstrated that he is different from his predecessors.

Obilor alleged that the process that led to emergence of candidates was not fair and transparent, saying that Otti-controlled  LP  is adopting a deceitful strategy to deceive contestants, just like the former governing party, the PDP did.

In a rebuttal, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Ferdinand Ekeoma dismissed Iyierioba's video as the cries of a sour loser who appealed to the governor to favour his candidate, but was asked to go for the primary where he lost.

Speaking to ABN TV, Iyierioba replied that Ferdinand Ekeoma does not know what he is talking about

"I warned earlier that 'Uka La Gadi Ifu', but as it is now "Uka Afudila", meaning trouble has started", he said

"Ferdinand Ekeoma told me they will do primaries, the governor also told me they will do primaries, but that did not happen. They went and picked somebody.

“I’m challenging Ekeoma to show me where primary election took place in  (Afuguri ward), let him share the video. That is why I am angry, they told us they came for change, and they are doing the same thing the past government did.

“We believed in Gov Otti, he met me before the election three times in Umukabia Ohuhu. It was the whole thing that he  told me there that made me support him”, he said.

He denied allegation that he is angry because his preferred candidate for the ward lost the primary.

According to him, under a free and fair primary election, his preferred candidate would have secured the councillorship nomination ticket.

The selected candidates of LP chosen by Otti has since crossed over to ZLP an unknown party in the State as the State LP is engrossed in crisis, an carry over of the crisis at the National level
