President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday  announced the changes in his cabinet during the ongoing Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.


As part of the reshuffle, the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development have been scrapped and  the ministers of the abolished ministries, John Enoh (Sports) and Abubakar Momoh (Niger Delta),  sacked 


A new Ministry of Regional Development will be created to oversee regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.


While, the National Sports Commission will now take on the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Sports.


The FEC has also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy 


The cabinet reshuffle is the first in the Tinubu's administration which was sworn in  on May 2023.
