The Abia State House of Assembly Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) rising from their Congress held on the 19th Day of November 2024 has issued a 14 days ultimatum to Abia State Governor to meet on their demands on or before 3rd December 2024. Their Demands are:
1. That the State Government without further delay to Obey and Implement the Letter of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Section 121) and Grant Full Financial Autonomy to the Abia State House of Assembly as the only Legislative Arm Still Depending on the Executive in Abia State.
2. The Congress frowned at the Constant interference by the State Head of Service on the Administration Wheels of the Abia State House of Assembly even when they have a Functional House of Assembly Service Commission. They also demand that the State Head of Service Should Return all their Members Files which they Arm Twisted the Clerk of the House some weeks ago to Handover to Her Office.
3. That the Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission Should Rise up to their Responsibilities as stipulated in the Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission Law.
4. That the State Government Should Implement their Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for all the Legislative Workers in Abia House of Assembly on the New Minimum Wage.
The Congress hereby issue a fourteen (14) days ultimatum to Abia State Government for Implementation of their Demands. At the expiration of the ultimatum on the 3rd December 2024, The Congress will be left with no option than to resume it's suspended strike.
