Dennis Idahosa

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, on Wednesday declared the seat of the member representing Ovia Federal Constituency, Dennis Idahosa, vacant.

In a letter read on the floor of the House, the Leader of the House, Julius Ihonvbere asked the House to declare the seat vacant, so as to commence the process of electing a representative for the people of Ovia.

With the declaration of Idahosa’s seat vacant, the House has about four vacant seats for which the Independent National Electoral Commission is expected to conduct fresh elections.

It would be recalled that Idahosa was elected deputy governor of Edo State in the September 21 governorship election and inaugurated on November 12.
