The acting Chairman, Comrade Nwabuba Prince  of Ikwuano LG chapter of the Labour Party, LP has reported to the Abia State Police Command an incident of harassment and intimidation of LP members in Oloko Ward 1 chapter of the party, and called for full investigation into the incident 


Comrade Nwabuba in his report named one Emmanuel Emetu as the mastermind and leader of the gang which disrupted a meeting of the LP in Oloko Ward 1 and abducted the Ward Chairman Comrade Collins Ndukwe.


According to the LG chairman of LP, Emetu led the gang which stormed the venue of the LP ward meeting in the early hours of the day. He said the gang  arrived in a bus, disrupted the meeting and started beating members of the party with sticks and other dangerous objects.


"As our members scattered in confusion they abducted our ward Chairman, Comrade Collins Ndukwe and about five other members and took him to what was later identified as the house of Emmanuel Emetu. They kept our Ward Chairman and the  other members there from morning till 5:30pm when they were released on Police intervention.


"Our Ward chairman was not only severely tortured by the gang six men led by Emmanuel Emetu, valuable party materials including cash were seized from them. They were only released after calls started coming from security agencies where we reported the matter to"


The Oloko Ward 1 chairman, Ndukwe told dailyledger.com.ng that it was a case of political intimidation as he was severely tortured and told that he will not leave where he was being held alive if he does not denounce his membership of LP and declare that he is no longer the LP Chairmen of Oloko Ward 1. 


Ndukwe showed the wounds inflicted on him and explained that he does not have any outstanding disagreement with Emetu except that he (Emetu) defected from LP to ZLP when the ZLP produced the elected LGA chairpersons in Abia State including Ikwuano. He said he had since reported the incident at the Divisional Police Post, Ikwuano LG
