Reuters seeks breaking news correspondent in Sub-Saharan Africa

DEADLINE: JUNE 8, 2025 — Reuters is inviting applications for the role of Breaking News Correspondent in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Based in Johannesburg, the ideal candidate will have strong news judgement, excellent writing skills and the ability to deliver fast, accurate reporting across economic, corporate and general news.
The role includes real-time coverage, headlines, updates and short multimedia stories from South Africa and the wider Sub-Saharan region.
Fluency in English and strong writing skills are required. Knowledge of French or Portuguese will be considered an added advantage.
Applicants must have at least three years’ newsroom experience, fluency in English and a strong grasp of the region’s political and financial landscape.
The deadline for applications is June 8, 2025.
