Canary Media hiring Copy and Production Editor

Canary Media is an independent, nonprofit newsroom covering the transition to clean energy and solutions to the climate crisis. The organisation reports on decarbonisation across electricity, transportation, buildings, and industry, with a critical focus on what works, what doesn’t, and how communities can build a more equitable energy future.

The Copy and Production Editor will play a key role in ensuring the clarity, accuracy, and consistency of Canary Media’s journalism. This full-time role is remote, but requires Pacific Time working hours.

Applicants must have at least three years of professional copy-editing experience, preferably in an online media or digital publishing environment, along with strong editing skills, excellent command of the English language, and familiarity with AP Style. The ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, fact-check articles, and collaborate effectively with reporters and editors is essential.

The position offers a salary range of $70,000–$85,000, along with benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with 4% match, paid vacation and parental leave, and the flexibility of a fully remote workplace.
