The Examination seeks investigative editor
DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 10, 2025 — The Examination, an independent nonprofit newsroom, is hiring an investigative editor to lead its food and polluting industries reporting teams.
The investigative editor will have deep experience managing impactful stories and projects. This is a role for someone who can inspire and guide original reporting that uncovers harmful corporate practices, misleading marketing campaigns, regulatory failures and other forces that undermine public health.
Applicants must have at least three to five years of investigative editing experience, with a track record of guiding ambitious, impactful journalism.
The estimated salary for this position is between $130,000 and $150,000, commensurate with experience, achievements and location.
